'We needed to investigate the new world of outdoor swimming pool ownership when we moved house recently. We realised that an enclosure would be the ideal replacement for the worn-out and difficult to operate canvas cover. It would be easy to use and provide solar heating, insulation and protection from leaves and other contamination. It would also be good to always see the inviting blue water!  We soon came across Alukov and were impressed with their helpfulness and their arrangements for us to visit a couple of their installations close by. The installation was very efficient and completed in one day at the end of October 2024.

Although it was too cold to swim that autumn, the water had warmed to a just bearable 16° C by the end of March, rising to an acceptable 19° C by mid-April and eventually reaching 29° C by mid-summer, solely through the greenhouse effect of the enclosure. We have been swimming every day from the end of March until now (mid-September) and expect to do so until the end of the month – 6 months in total.

The easy access through the hatch means that there is no need to slide the main sections open, easy though that is. Keeping it covered all the time has kept the water clear of debris and it is a wonderful feeling swimming under cover whatever the outside conditions.
